El Capitan

Made with our pals at The Belfast Coffee Company – a big alcohol and java monster. Loads of Guatemalan Volcanic Atitlan hand roasted coffee is added during conditioning. Full on roasty, bittersweet coffee and plenty of body, boozy..

Über Tuber

Paying homage to our surroundings, we add a sack of Comber spuds in the mash. Hops grown on the farm are added late in the boil to add a mild floral, spicy aroma. A specially selected saison yeast strain adds a complexity that belies the humble spud. Spuds never tasted so good..

Small Axe

Our go to, every day, easy drinking IPA. Made with 100% Maris Otter malt to keep it crisp and let the hops shine through, we have a huge late hop addition in the last 15 minutes of the boil to ensure a big piney citrus hit..

The Bio

"Willy developed a taste for microbrewed beers after trying Whitewater’s Belfast Ale in the Crown Bar in 2009. Following a trip to California in 2011 and a visit to Green Flash Brewing Co, San Diego, he decided he wanted to start brewing all-grain at home. One thing led to another and 5 years later, Bullhouse Brewing Co was born."

Cans and Plans

By on March 7, 2017

Big news, Small Axe is now available in cans (and keg). As I mentioned previously, I want Bullhouse to be fully transparent. Not the beer, just the brewery. Stocks have been running dangerously low, so it was great to get a big delivery of a revamped juicy, resinous piny Small Axe this afternoon. I got […]

Beery Adventures Down Under

By on January 17, 2017

I took a month off from brewing and left the Bullhouse to run itself (with the help of a few friends and family) over Christmas. I drank a lot (but never too much) of great local beer. A few highlights of the trip: Feral Brewing Company – Perth Feral is everywhere in Australia, I visited […]

In January 2016 I was working late nights – painting, putting up cladding and plumbing in my vessels to begin brewing as soon as I could. I finally got the first batch of beer (El Capitan) brewed on Saturday 13th February 2016. I decided to start out with some pretty wacky styles for Northern Ireland (an […]

Transparency in Beer

By on November 27, 2016

Bullhouse has been up and running for 9 months now. Back in March, I had great intentions to blog lots and to create full-transparency into the brewery, the recipes and the techniques that we use to turn agricultural products into beer. This is something that I am determined to do more of. Lots of companies […]

Mission & Changes

By on July 22, 2016

You may have noticed our mission statement on our homepage;   We brew great beer, at a profit if we can, at a loss if we must, but always great beer.   I’ve been asked a lot why Bullhouse started, so I thought I would give a quick explanation.   Why do we exist? We […]
